Moth Dissection

I first started moth dissection in July 2010. Getting into this field may seem daunting at first but it is possible with little expertise. I failed to find any courses being run. Angleps stopped running courses in 2009. Instead my training came from watching a video on youtube.com entitled "Dissection of the Male Genitalia of the Cactus Moth". In addition to this I read Shane Farrells guide and the dissection guide on Angleps. These guides give more information about dissection of female moths. My equipment used is a BTC STM-5T 20x 40x from www.365astronomy.com and a dissection starter kit from www.angleps.com.
During the coming months I intend to post photos of the more difficult to identify species that are either worn or have identical species. Over time I'm hoping that the standard of dissection will look less like a trip to the butchers and more like a science lab as I gain more experience. The photography side should also improve as I find better techniques.
