Glaucous Gull Slimbridge 11th March 2007

Finally managed to catch up with this bird. Initially distant with some herring and lesser black-backs. It started to walk and stretch which was a sign of flight. A few minutes later the bird took flight and came closer landing not far from the dead sheep it has been feeding on throughout its stay. The bird was aggressive towards 2 Ravens and regularly saw them off. Aging the bird was rather tricky. The eye colour was dark which i presume is enough. The tip of the bill was pale but this is not unusual in march.

Oi. Clear off!
